Howdy,

For all who don't already know, on Saturday, October 27th, 2007, there will be a party at the Toyota Museum in Torrance, CA from 10 am to 5 pm to commemorate Toyota's 50th anniversary in the United States.

There will be food, guest speakers from Toyota, local press and lots of Land Cruisers! Toyota America is asking that everyone who owns a Land Cruiser, and who is interested in attending, to show up with your rig to form the largest group of Land Cruisers ever assembled.

Here's the Toyota Museum's website: www.toyota50th.com

Here's the address:

19001 S. Western Ave.
Torrance, CA 90509

For more info, please email me at jphillips@riversidelab.com or contact the Toyota Museum curator, Susan Sanborn, at (310) 468-4728 (email: susan_sanborn@toyota.com)

Best regards and we hope to see you and your cruiser there,

I will put it on my calendar.:)

I'll probably be there.

The real question is which event will have more Land Cruisers...this Toyota America event or Surf-N-Turf the next weekend?

Now BOTH addresses are listed. Please clarify.

Good times. Biscuit, Calico Kid, wasabi and I were there prepresenting trail crew. Actually handed out a Nov/Dec TT to a new prospect from the 626 by the name of Ken. We'll see what happens. There was a very good showing from the So Cal chapter and the so cal 80s, , and a heck of a showing from the FJ Cruiser group.

Thanks to fellow cruiserhead John Stumbaugh [colangut], I got a great parking spot.

I think maybe I should sell my swb to the museum. First time I've drove it in a year and a half.

No pics.

Thanks for the ride Mark, I REALLY enjoyed riding around in your 45. It's like a time capsule to be in there. You look forward and the vent screen in the windshield looks brand new! By comparison, the red SWB FJ45 in the museum look old and haggard (and it was a nice truck - just not nearly as nice as yours).

When you pulled out on the highway, I was surprised when we cruised along at the speed of traffic and had no problems with getting up to speed - great running truck.

YOU BASTARD. Now I want to buy a 45.

My LWB has ~800# more stuff on it, and it will outrun the shortbed. Calico couldn't keep up with me on I-40 when I finally decided to put the pedal down!

Still not sure if a cruiser is the right move for you...right now.;)
