Hello, WE are now converting a Volvo LapLander over using toy axles, 4speedc/w transfercaseand maybe the 2F engine if it will fit, Looking for a cumm. diesel 3.9. I would like to install a front toy axle in the rear- ie 4 wheel steering at low speed, have any one out there done this? Like to have some input /assistance/ problems found, what ever you want to toss our way is app. THX Don

do they make adapter kits for a 3.9 diesel to a l/c bellhousing? if not your going to have to run a diff. tranny transfer-case..... and just use the axles from the cruiser. but if your gonna put the drivetrain from a cummins in you might as well use the axles from the truck you get it from because the t-case output may be different plus the fact of expensive custum driveshafts... but hell i never heard anyone doing this ... good luck

doesn't the lap lander use volvo portal axles any way. why would you want to "downgrade" to a Landcruiser axles ( assuming your laplander c303 has portals) is it a 6x6 or a 4x4?

No. The C303 had portals, the L3314/C202 was a smaller FC with D44 sized Salisbury axles.

I would drive a 3.9 4BT before I swapped one into a volvo. There is alot of noise and vibration. You definately won't want to use birfields in the rear then with 330ft-lbs at 1600rpm.
