I was thinking about starting a wood working project over the winter. This would be for my future kid on the way...5 mo to go.

I need to put in the panels.

Ah yes, the 'toy box'. Where all toys are supposed to do- but in reality, they are the LAST place a toy will end up.

I know it well.

My only suggestion would be to put some springs on the lid so it slows down as it closes. pinched fingers= screamer.

Yup, I was thinking of some damper hinges. The legs stand up about 20mm so that there is a gap which will minimize the likely hood of fingers getting pinched.

I'm thinking about doing it in cherry. Found a guy on C-List with a bunch of it.

Currently it's designed to be 1m x 0.5m x 0.5m. Think that's big enough?

Dude- they're never big enough.

;)

I know, I know...I wish I had a toy box (garage) big enough to fit my 60 in.

Started working on the bottom panel. The current plan is to have it free-floating in some grooves routed into the bottom rails.

Also, had to scale some of the parts to the more normal sizes that are available.
