Anyone towing an Oliver trailer with their hundy? I was shopping (hoping) for an Oliver Elite II, but have gotten some serious feedback on the Oliver forum that my 2006 LX can't handle the OE II (4900 dry weight, 7000 GVWR). I've got the factory tow package that takes me to 6500 "capacity" so I was thinking I could just keep my payload manageable and get the OE II. Now its looking like I've got to stay with the OE I, or go with an Airstream, which is not as good a 4- season camper, which is something I defintely need.

Thats only 2222 kilograms , how can anyone state that a landcruiser cannot tow that.
Incredible to me, just got our 100 hp HJ60 diesel towing a boat to Croatia trough the Alps... Total about 3500 kilogram.
Just enjoy your camper travels and ignore the 1000hp advice.

I have not towed in the mountains yet but I have build this old 2004 GX470 to go to the artic circle from the midwest and back. See this link.

I tow a tractor and trailer combo thats about 5k and that feels heavy af driving up a long grade. Flat interstate its fine and safe but going up hills is tough.
