I am in need of a cheap tow vehicle (suv) for a 5k pound boat. The two vehicles I've narrowed it down to is a 2001-2008 suburban/Yukon/Tahoe or a 2001-2007 sequoia. Reliability is pretty high on the list and I've had relatives with both of these that went to 300,000 miles. I've been using my 80 series but it's starting to show its age. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Any reason for choosing the Sequoia over the 100-series LC with the same drivetrain and same towing capacity?

5,000lbs including the trailer and gear or boat alone? While the 4.7l Toyota V8 or any GM full size V8 has a capacity above 5k, you start to feel the weight a lot. I think a lot of this comes down to how much, if at all, above 5,000lbs your total weight would be, plus how far you need to tow. Are you a few miles from the water or will you be towing this boat cross country?
