Haynes says 49 ftlbs, Gregory says 106 Nm

1 ftlb = 1.35582 Nm 106/1.35582 = 78 ftlbs per Gregorys

Dang, that is a big difference.

Really! I thought that was way to low. Thanks.

You guys sure about this? I don't have the factory manual here at work, but I'm pretty sure for the later upgraded studs ('79 up and all mini truck) the torque was 71 foot pounds. THat's what I have always used. The '78 and down studs are smaller and should have a lower torque spec. Those studs do break, so be careful with the spec. What I remember about the '76 FSM is that it gave a range for the knuckle studs and the upper end of that range looked like a typo, ie too high.
