The 72/77 FJ40 is ready for primer, paint and reassembly. I cleaned and painted the frame. After much thought I decided to sand blast it and repaint it. On the frame do most of you go gloss or flat black?

Gloss paint historical has been somewhat more durable. I’m at about 28 years on my tremclad gloss black and it’s still in decent shape… better than OEM did. Keep in mind I sprayed almost a gallon of paint onto the frame.

Would anyone have a Aquala Industries 4034A double steering arm. It has the smaller bolt pattern. This has been discontinued.
Previous questions about the steering modifications after the previous owner of my 40 did a spring over lift. I looked into it and as I have moved the frame from place to place without the steering box. I found that the tie rod hits the leaf spring limiting right hand turn radius. I thought about lowering the steering box mount but without having the body or steering colum on the frame I feel a better tactic is to ask for advice.
