The vinyl was gone and looked like horrid -

So, I ripped it off and went with Diamond Plate

Yes, I used some old climbing holds for door handles...

Guess I am not a purist!

Not a big fan of diamondplate but as long noone can see it . jk I plan on using some for a tailgate but will likely put the diamonds inside and paint it black. Looks good.

I like the climbing holds.

My 40 has bolt anchors at the factory holes with rope tied between them.

A friend of mine once used BD hexes as shift knobs.

Very nice. The climbing holds are cool. Lots better than the sections of garden hose I had on my 40 doors before I sold them.

Don't think you are a dumb redneck - I appreciate different ideas. I think it looks great. Would I do it - probably not, but then again my vinyl is ok.
