I emailed them a couple of months ago, before I bought mine. I asked about v8'in a 92. I can't remember the exact amount, but I want to say it was close to 30k. That was for a new motor, tranny and part-time case. Needless to say, I chose to get a later model and be happy with the 4.5l. You could check on prices with supplying your own stuff.
 
I think that Jonathan at TLC uses new crate motors and does a lot of work to mate up systems, existing instrumentation, etc. From what I have seen, his work is very sanitary and weel done. It is not cheap.

I checked some years ago on the cost of installing a new 5.7 Vortec and H55F in a 60 and was told the cost would likely be about $22,000.

Mudrak is very capable, and does this work as well, and for much less money. But there are a lot of choices in how to do the swap, and all of them will impact cost.

Yeah, you get a newer 80 or older 100 and PIMP either one out for that price range.

There was a Turbo'd Lifted 80 for sale here in the PNW recently, that would be a nice new rig:grinpimp:

I love conversions; however, having owned a few they are a labor of love, sourcing parts and such to make Cruisers/domestics work together and such, but for an expedition rig I really like keeping things stock....

Hilltoper, off subject but since you do some desert bike riding and live out west have you ever looked at ATK motorcycles? Awsome for desert racing and expedition riding (talking about the 605 rotax powered bikes). They do need a larger tank though.
 
Ok,

Just got off the phone with MAF...

High Performance 3FE adds about 15% to hp rating, my calculations put that at about 178 HP...

FYI...

Don't think 23HP will make that much of a difference in a 6000 lb rig...:doh:

Shoot, 22k for a V8 swap...

Profitts will do a Cummins 4BT swap for 13k or so. If i had the money that would be amazing.
