I have searched to no avail.

At some point I will be looking into a 2" lift. I am up in the air about whether or not to get torsion bars, or just crank as well. Anyways, how does the base lifts from TJM and OME compare? I have read good things about the TJM progressive springs and the XGS shocks, whereas people don't seem to compliment the individual components of the OME setup. Looking at getting the springs and shocks on Duiser's website and the cost is only about $100 higher than the OME setup ($549 ome vs. $670 TJM).

Side note, the base lift kit on Duiser's website includes the coil springs and shocks for $795, but the individual pieces total $670. Am I missing something? The description paragraph lists a steering damper, but the part list does not.

Edit: It also seems TJM only offers coils in heavy duty. Do they have light or medium duty coils? It seems odd to only have heavy duty.

Any opinions?

FYI the steering damper is for the 80s. What you will need is a diff drop bracket (BIOR or Slee). As far as TJM or OME that will depend on what you look for in suspensions. Wanna stay close to oem ride and are not running a bumper? Stay with your torsion bars and go with TJM (on special at slee rt now btw). Some want a stiffer ride, then go with OME nitros.
I went with a mix. Bior diff bracket, OME springs and Ironman foam cell shocks. I wanted a plush ride but it's still stiffer than oem mainly bc the tires I have are E rated.
Again, look at your needs/wants and not necessarily buy a "kit" there's great info here to fine tune a suspension to your needs.

How are the XGS Gold shocks? I was about to pull the trigger on some OME Nitrocharger sports but now will most likely order the TJM XGS from Slee.

I'm on the fence about these two options myself. Found a good deal on the tjm shocks so I'm gonna try them out with my stock setup and torque my oem torsion bars. I've heard nice things about the tjm shocks, so I will try them out and report back

@WiscoProud For those kinds of questions I would recommend PMing Duiser. He's in this forum a lot and also under the Supporting Vendors tab.

Check out the Ironman 2" with the foam cells. The ride quality is great.

I would 2nd that. Just installed a set of 4 on a friends 03 LC and it rides great. Firm but not harsh. The only downside is that the Ironman's use a 22mm top nut and consequently by flex ratcheting box/open set doesn't work (max 19mm).

I presume that means they're being acquired by someone or going through a reorganization? How would you compare the TJM shocks to the OME ones?

Changing distribution and stocking in the USA. TJM shocks are good, not great. OME shocks suck. Both are pretty old world designs. Need to step up to the plate if ride quality is very important to you.

Here in Australia, the OME shocks are know to be much better than the TJM.. don't know if there is a difference or not to you guys, but the OME nitrocharger sports are great!! If you want better, look at the OME LTR (long travel remote reservoir). I run these on mine and there great.

Cheers.

Slee,
I see you have the TJM shocks are on sale for a very reasonable price. Are you going to continue to carry them, or are you clearing out your inventory? How do they compare to OME in your opinion?

Side question, I see on the OME website the suspension kits show a "Lower Control Arm Fit Kit" which I have not seen on any third-party site. What is this used for?

We are clearing out inventory. We were offered a good deal on the parts and we are passing it on. As mentioned TJM is making changes to how they are distributing in the US and we are waiting to see what they are doing.

In general we like the way the TJM shocks ride but we feel they are not really up to the task when you are dealing with heavy built trucks. At the price we are selling them they are a good options for someone just wanting new shocks.

The Australia they have an issue that the control arms crack where the torsion bar bolts on. Never seen this on a US trucks so we don't bother with that part. It is a piece that strengthens the A arm in that spot.[/QUOTE]

Pretty general statement to condemn a whole line of shocks just based on the butt dyno. I would agree that in some cases the OME might be transmit more into the truck than what we want. That is typically on light trucks that are mostly used on pavement.

However did your butt also figure out they are old technology? :)
