Seems like the tall narrow tires are much easier to source for 16" rims. BFG has a LT395/75R16/D (33.5" tall) listed for the T/A KO. I have been thinking of going to 16 rims in order to get the taller narrow profile I like. I have looked for a 32" or 33" 9.50 in 15" and found nothing that appealed to me.

I'm running an excellent all-around agressive AT tire in 33x9.50.
The Kelly-Springfield Safari MSR. Check out this review, it's what convinced me to give them a try.
I haven't had any problems with them at all. I'm running them on OEM 5.5" wheels on my '72 FJ40 and run them at about 10-12 psi on the trail. Excellent traction all-around and they crawl rocks great! They are quiet on the street, and steer easy since they are 9.50's. They have a bit wider tread than the BFG AT's do, and are more agressive.
Oh yeah, they were only $118 each!! AND they run TRUE TO SIZE
They are wearing VERY well seeing as how I drive Buddy to/from the trails/events no matter how far. I've got about 12K miles and a LOT of wheelin' on them now and they hardly look worn at all. I'm very impressed and will buy them again.
And if you don't mind getting 16" rims Michelin XZLs, 36x9.8x16, hard to find but very streetable and seems to be decent in everything but the very sticky stuff
