Hey guys, I’ve got the icon stage 3 suspension going on in the next week or so and I’m researching what size tires I can run. The icon site recommends 33x11.5, but I’m not sure what that translates into for the size I needed to order online. I am running 17x8.5 stealth custom series wheels. Thanks.

I am running 285/75r16 with no issues. The stage 3 gave it about 4-5 inches of lift even though its advertised as 3 inch. Im pretty sure you can run 35's or even 37's with a little more modification. The 33's look tiny though and im eventually going up to 37's. Might wanna consider that before buying tires since you have 17 inch rims already anyway. I regret going to 33's.

Do not put 33’s on that lift unless you are after training wheels. 37’s all the way.

If you really want tiny tires, that’s a 285/70R17 size for a 33.

Sounds like I should go 35’s or 37’s.

How can I calculate how that translates into the actual tire size?

Strange as it sounds, the same lift will result in differing/various results on multiple vehicles. I would not even think about buying tires until you see the rig with the lift completely installed, and even driven a while to get it all settled in. When I bought the rig in my avitar, it was stock. So I had a shop do a spring over on it. I was pretty sure it would wear 33's OK, but I wanted 35'S if possible. So when the shop finished the build, i went in with a tape measure and figured out that I could safely run the bigger 35's. Joy! Joy!! Don't guess about tire fitment.

The 2nd day I had 285 Duratracs, trying them out. Measured 32-1/2 new FYI.
I high centered the rear pumpkin on a rock. Thought about 315s right there!
Yet I maintain strong brakes and easy steering staying “small”
Still plenty of tire with springs, only really needed 315s for gnarly Black Hills canyons.
If the op @huddleston is going deep in them woods frequently, get 5 35x17s for sure.

I think the 35's would be a good choice. I am running 17x9 wheels with the 31570r17 's

before pic is the OME 2.5 lift with 1" spacers in the front and 325's which are 35.0" tall, the second pic is the ICon stage 3 lift and 315's which are 34.5" tall. I gained almost exactly one inch in suspension lift. I think 33's would look too small and feel its more of a liability/conservative measure by the lift companies lawyers lol.

Id run the 325s still but are no longer made. it sits level without having to add spacers like the OME. the ride is amazing - I am running the dials at 4 currently and the variation from 1 to 10 is definite. I can see a world of difference on wash board roads at the softest settings. no more teeth rattling!

40s... just saying.

That settup should fit 35x12.50s all day long. If you get 33s you will most likely suffer from "twoinchitus" where you immediately wish you'd gotten bigger rubber :)

The last time I eyeballed the Icon stage 3 the kit was more than I paid for my truck...if you don't mind my asking, what's the approximate sticker these days?

Icon stage 1 (same 3" lift springs) w/ 285/75/16 tires. If I went any bigger on tires it would no longer fit in my parkade at work. I've already scraped the sunroof deflector a few times.

I have icon springs (they only make 1) and it has settled quite a bit from when it was first put on. 35’s(315/70r17) look great, but 37’s would look better, i just dont “need” them.

How cute. 42s for sure

I was thinking 42’s now that 37’s are basically stock size.

We all know that 37’s are way too small. It’s just a matter of knowing what you want to do about it.
