HI,
Just a quick question. How much effect ( if any) would the damage in the photo have on the timing? The pulley is off a 2lt motor.
Many thanks!!

@Domestos , I would say, why take the chance for a $20 dollar part #13521-54020, "Pulley, Crankshaft Timing".
"Key" #95161-30622.

Hard to say... may or may not, but again, why take the chance. Big down side, if things go array.
(it would probably be OK, but for $20 bucks, why take the chance).

This happens when people don't torque the crank pulley bolt enough. Make sure you do when you fix this!!

Replace the pulley.

Most importantly, check the crankshaft for damage!! A member on this forum had to replace his crank because of the same issue.

Thanks for the replies,
The crank shaft has a slight impression that the keyway has left
.

the crank fan belt pulley has even more damage!

The bolt was on very tight. the back of the pulley is gouged suggesting it could have been over tightened?
and it's looking like this is not the problem I was looking for but a problem nevertheless .
