He was such a good shark. Al the neighbors loved him...he seemed so friendly.
I just don't understand what got into him...

    (poaching info already posted elsewhere)
In 2003, there were 55 attacks world-wide and 3 deaths.

Between the year 1580 and 2003, there were 1909 CONFIRMED "unprovoked" shark attacks worldwide (over the course of 424 years):
United States 737 (attacks) 38 (deaths)
    Hawaii 96 (attacks) 14 (deaths)
    Australia 282 (attacks) 132 (deaths)
    Africa 255 (attacks) 67 (deaths)
    Asia 114 (attacks) 53 (deaths)
    Europe 39 (attacks) 1 (deaths)
South America 89 (attacks) 21 (deaths)
Antilles and the Bahamas 57 (attacks) 19 (deaths)
    Bermuda 4 (attacks) 0 (deaths)
Mexico and Central America 57 (attacks) 31 (deaths)
Pacific Islands, Oceania 115 (attacks) 48 (deaths)
New Zealand 44 (attacks) 9 (deaths)
    Other 20 (attacks) 6 (deaths)

Given all the swimmers world-wide frolicing just off the beaches...a shark attack is relatively rare.

Given the stats...I think Bermuda's the place to be.

    :D

H-ha your pretty original & funny guy 3pits......

I'm glad to see that your finally comparing pitbulls to sharks, cause they are both killers. Patience though my little paduan learner. Lets start with the land dwelling pit bulls. Once they are all eliminated then we can start in on the sharks. Ok. Ok.

didn't I ask you guys to NOT respond,, not comparing pits to sharks, just the small minded mentality over generalizations,,,

"if you talk with the animals they will talk with you and you will knw each other. If you do not alk wto them you will not know them, and what you do not know you will fear, what one fears one destorys" Chief Dan George,,, bison, american indians,,, any of those sound familiar,, how come no one has answered my questions, have you met any pits? and did you correctly identify the pit in the test from the aol link?

cookie, must be a left coast cali thing I thought liberals were accepting of others and well liberal, guess it is not so, only accepting of what you guys want not what others want,,, soo sad,,,

damn doug how do you get those stats so fast?

so you can not control yourself?, you have to start name calling and just feel compelled to respond,,, soooooooooooooo mature,,,,! it was a joke coooooky as it said some levity,,, mr serious!

there is no way I would let a shark into my house so long as I have small kids. it is just not a risk I am prepared to take with my family.

My Mom is down there on vacation right now.

I am willing to bet it was a tiger or bull in those waters. We used to fish around that area all the time when I was younger.

    Shark = wild animal
    Pit Bull = someone's pet

Both are proven to be dangerous animals. :flipoff2:

Except people don't keep sharks as pets, invite them into their homes thinking they are perfectly wonderful animals to keep around.

Sharks are wild animals. If you don't want to get eaten, stay the frig out of the water. Nobody has ever had their child killed by a shark in their own living room.

Sharks are not found in homes. Except mine (Me). Sharks benefit the environment and help to maintain an ecological balance. Evey Pit Bull on Earth could be exterminated and they would have zero effect on the ecology short of not killing kids and other pets. I see that as a benefit, as do many others. You can always raise a different breed, so saying that you would be permanently and adversely affected would be a falsehood. Allowing no new breeding and letting the existing dogs naturally pass on would allow a smooth transition to occur. You'd get over it and move on with your lives just fine.
