Tieing up loose ends on the V8 conversion part 823 (power steering) (1 Viewer)

So with the stock powersteering stuff you're supposed to run ATF. Now with the V8 conversion I'm runnin the stock gear and the Chevy pump (I guess that's obvious... but anyway) What should I be running?

I have ATF in mine (same set up) No problems yet.

I changed my steering box because I thought it was the cause of my problems - the guy at the rebuilder (very knowedgable) said no diff between ATF & PS fluid. Since my Vortec's PS pump grew up on PS fluid I've stayed with it. Toy PS box hasn't complained in 1-1/2 years.

I use PS fluid only in all my trucks. I figured there is a reason they make it.

Thanks... I was getting some leaking and I hoped it was from running the "wrong" fluid. I'm rebuilding the old steering gear currently. Ok, so it's torn down just passed the "carefully remove this peice w/o removing the bearings" stage and I'm slowly getting it back together....
