When you guys have replaced the tie rod ends, how tight are you guys going down on the nut? I have found that in order to leave enough diameter in the bolt hole for the pin, you really cannot tighten it down as if it were a regualr bolt i.e. tighten down in the literal sense. Is this right???

My steering is a tight as one can expect and I do not get a lot play on the road even considering I am running SS non radial tires.

Thx

If you are talking about the clamps they are about 30-35lbs. I will need to check a FSM when I can this afternoon. Maybe some one can speak up sooner.

I think he is talking about the castle nuts with the cotter pin. Once you tighten it until it pulls up into the taper you should be good. Are you saying that when you do, the cotter pin is not engaging the nut?
