Tie Rod ? and mystery plug (1 Viewer)

I have a couple of questions.

Tie Rod; I noticed some grey grease coming out around the boots. Bad, good/normal?

I also finally got around to removing the running boards. On the DS, toward the back I found a mystery plug, male three pin. It was taped to another wiring harnass. Just a bit curious what it is for.

Small amount is normal.

Wiring plugs taped to the harness are for options that are not installed on that truck.
