Controversial i know, but the Canadian parliament passed a same sex marriage bill yesterday, extending the same rights to gay and lesbian couples, as heteros! Hows that for a freedom loving, equalitarian societal benchmark!

    Prime Minister Doug?

Welcome to the New Millennium where the tight ass Bible Thumper's don't run the country!

Our national TV channel (CBC) does not edit the words s*** and God damn from movies or basic nudity. Girls are within their legal right (except in Toronto) to give you a lap dance. They actually take their clothes off and you don't want to know what goes on in at Montreal peelers.

Canada is a great cross between European Socialism and the freedoms of America. Now we're even being recognized as having a unique Auto market as compared to the US. Bring on the Diesels!

    Much to do about nothing.

I personally do not see what "rights" or benefits are not currently achievable using other means.

My old co. provided health benefits for "Life" partners, (based in San Fran, big shock) and then unmarried hetero couples applied for it, co fought it, but guess what? Open the door for one, the rest will follow....they had to do it.

I don't care what people do in the privacy of their home. But what is starting to happen is that these new laws are causing A LOT of trouble in other arenas....

Anybody see the USA Today article a few weeks back? Same sex couples are adopting, splitting up, and then stay at home mom recieves no benefits from former partner legally because they are "not the father"

I hate fawkers that use the laws to their advantage when it suits them, and then hide behind them to get out of a commitment.

This is going to cause a mess in many other arenas, due to the wordking of most of the laws on the books that use the term man and woman...

I am not a bible thumper or humper by any means and am not averse to driving a diesel either for that matter. In fact, I have/know a few gay dudes that are good friends of my mother/grandmother and have no issues with them. I asked them if they think that gay marriage should be recognized as a legal marriage and the answer hands down was - no. Why should gays get special rights that other dont have???
What next legal marriage between you and your pet??
Dont get me wrong, i like VISITING Canada, but their "agenda" is flawed.

"sheep, not only a meal, but a loyal companion"

I could just see it now - you marry a sheep, then loose your job, then you have to eat the sheep b/c you have no $$ for food, then you get sent to jail for murdering your wife.....I think this is where Canada is heading..

I don't unerstand where it's "special treatment" - how are they getting specail treatment if a commited couple wants to legally ball-and-chain themselves together? It's not allowed here in the US - that seems more like descrimination to me.

Interesting perspective - can you ellaborate?

Your oppinion only. 10% of the population is born that way. In Roman days it was celebrated. Now sex with animals... thats a perversion. Try and think beyond your prejudices.

I am not prejudice against gays - I have stated in the past that I couldnt care less what or who they do - hell, i have had really good conversations and dinners with people that are gay; my couisn is gay and living in SF. Just because i dont "agree" with what they do doesnt make it right for someone to call me or label me prejudice...

The Roamans were known to "celebebrate" having sex with small boys as well - I dont see where you saying that the Roamans celebrated it makes it ok..

That's a very nice sample size that you have there, Noah. I'm sure that statistics was one of the classes you excelled in while you were in school. Or is it spelled "skewl" where you're from? :flipoff2:

well, i figure if I know 40 people and 10% of them are gay then that would fit into the equation.

...and if you gonna critique my grammar/spelling then "moderate" a spell check on here..

Perversion? Says who? People have sex with animals and dogs hump legs all the time. Born that way too I suppose - which would make it normal in your book?

The "skewl" comment was not directed towards your spelling, rather it was a comment about your redneck tendencies in this subject matter. :D

As far as your understanding of statistics go...looks like you need a lot more help than I'm willing to type into this window. Four people is WAAAAY too low to achieve any significance. And you only know 40 people? :flipoff2:

Just like you would like homosexual people to keep their sexual orientation to themselves, I wish that some people would keep their opinion to themselves. That's all.

let's see, 10% of the population are openly/closet homosexual so because of the percentage we HAVE to accept them, right?
at what percent does it make someting a obligatory to accept as natural?
    just curious.
