the thumb button on my emergency brake hand lever self destructed tonight. anyone custom make a replacement button or does everyone just replace the whole hand brake apparatus.

The knob is available from Toyota. MSRP is $3 US for the black one.

My E Brake handle button will not pop back out, which means the brake handle will not lock in the engaged up position. Does this mean I need a new thumb button part listed above or does it indicate another problem? If it is the thumb button how do you remove that from the end of the handle?
