Anyone up to running deer valley while we still can?? Thinking next weekend...

Any idea what condition the trail is in?

We just got back from Mammoth Lakes and everything under shade is frozen solid in ice about 1' thick.

I would check to see if the roads are open to get to the trail. They usually close hwy 4 at a certain time regardless of whether there is snow or not. So I would be surprised if Ebbet's Pass is open. Not sure about the Blue Lakes side.

Not knowing any better, I had just figured that it'd be good to go w/ the weather we've had....

I like your thinking. You def. have been bit by the wheeling bug. Blue Lakes road is closed. I can't find where ebetts pass is closed or open. My guess is that it is closed. If not then maybe an in and out trip is in order. Another factor is winds may have blown some trees over and whoever opens up the trail doesn't get on it til late spring early summer. I would be suprised if we could get very far on it even if ebetts is open.
