Hi all. I did some searching here but did not come up with anything touching on my particular issue.
It is a 1997 with a 1HD that I brought in from Oman to Dubai. Not a speed demon but I really like the truck. I am however, thinking that something is a bit off.
With the pedal to the floor I don't get the full travel of the accelerator linkage. If I go under the hood I can turn the accelerator linkage another 30 degrees or so by hand before it stops. I have the feeling I'm just not getting full throttle via the pedal.
I've searched the body and engine service manuals but have not found a way to adjust so that I get greater overall travel. When I lightly touch the pedal the engine speeds up so the cable would seem adjusted correctly. If I could raise the pedal further I would get more travel before the pedal hits the floor, but I have not seen anything in the manuals to help.
As always, comments and thoughts will be appreciated warmly.
