Throttle Position Sensor

I have an '01 Taco and the check engine light came on.
I checked the code and it was the TPS. The light stayed on
the rest of the day. The next day it was off. It hasn't sputtered
or missed a beat.

I did purchase a new TPS from Toyota. Should I put the
switch in or keep it for future use?

For anyone interested:
Advanced Automotive price was $77.00.
Toyota (from dealership) was $51.98 w/ tax.
I didn't check Autobone (don't care for their parts).

How do you adjust it? It looks enclosed. There are
no adjustment screws.

The light is still off, BTW.

I'm not too sure about the Tacos, but the older trucks had 2 screws holding it to the throttle, and you loosened... Wait here's a link.

I don't know if the Tacos as adjustable, but it seems dumb for them to not be.

That's a different type of TPS, according to
the schematics. There are only 3 prongs in my
TPS. Also, that one has slotted holes where you
tighten the screws.

Do all TPS's work the same? Do you adjust
them by slightly tilting them?
