I just bought a '67 FJ-40 which the motor runs strong in. However, a couple of days after I bought it the throttle linkage started to stick and I started taking it a part. Well it has been rigged up pretty good and I am looking for a new one, or a donated one. Any ideas on where to find one or how to fab one, I have access to steel so that is no problem. Just looking for Ideas.

Thanks for the head's up Dan. AK, is your truck mechanical rod linkage, or a throttle cable? 67 is a transition year, so it could be either. If you have an F145 engine and a dash pad, you should have a cable. If you have an F135 engine and a ribbed, non-padded dash, you should have rod linkage.

I have several sets of used rod linkage, as well as throttle cables. It is also possible to convert an earlier rod linkage carb to work with a cable. There are pics of such setups on this forum if you search. I think landpimp has a cable conversion on his 1bbl carb.

I just changed out the Carberator to a two barrel and converted the mechanical linkage to a cable linkage. Right now though I am trying to figure out the electric choke.

Ditto. Electric choke?
