I have a lot more photos but in a hotel right now, the rear diff will be repaired tomorrow, and the connection is preventing me from uploading the pics in a timely manner. I'll post more tomorrow or sometime during the week.

Great pics - I think I remember those steps from last year, but they were dry then.

Btw, Ron (with the 100) is one of us - slimbuddha.

Now I remember, but he wasn't with us on that trail.

Hey Ron, Thanks for offering to tow our pop-up back to Albuquerque.

Trails were a challenge...the EXTREME fire dangers in the NF made it tough, and Brandon was pressed to get ANY approval from the BLM....

all things considered, it was a great event....I know I had a good time meeting folks!!
(besides, events are as much about people as anything else!)

Woody - thanks to you and the rest of the Trail Team for a great event. As always, you all provide wonderful information and entertainment. You are always welcome in NM. Hope to see you again soon.

It was great meeting the FJC folks and am I glad I didn't win any FJC hardware in the raffle! The weather was awesome starting Friday and all the way until we left Monday morning. The campground does have three nice shower/bathroom facilities and new electrical only hookups toward the back part (after you cross the bridge). There were porta potties placed throughout for easy access.

We skipped on Sunday trail ride as well and did the tourist thing in Ruidoso. It's a nice town and lots of places to camp in the area.

Thanks to Brandon and the TT for putting on a nice event. We enjoyed making new friends and I took spy shots of FJC hardware that can be used on the 80's!! They have a great after market vendor support for sure.

Cheers.

Woody.. Thanks again for the fun on the trail Mr Tom Hanks. Also, thanks again for the mug.

No problem. I stayed with Woody & the trail team, but I do have a clip of video from the first ledge on the second day, and most of the rest of the guys going up the ledge (that Paul was referring to) that I'll try and get up tomorrow.

This was my first organized event, I really enjoyed this weekend, and as Ali said, the facilities were far nice.

Woody, Thanks to you and the other trail team members. This was my first trail team event and I really appreciate what you guys do. I wish you guys could have done the three amigos with us that way we could have learned more from the pros. Maybe next year.

Lawrence

Yeah I remember you were with us until the three amigos. How was the rest of the trail that day? Looking forward to the video.

Pics/Videos

Ok, here are a few pics from the event. First pic is from Orogrande when we were heading out and stopped near one of the mines (in front of me), second is the same, but vehicles behind me. Third pic is Lawrence at the second off-shoot of the Coyote Canyon trail. He was the first to attempt it, and got hung up. He made it out.

The rest of my photos are here: Thrill on the Hill 2008 - a set on Flickr
Videos are here:
Index of /videos/TOTH2008

The video TOTH2008-Coyote_Canyon_Ledge.wmv is almost 8 minutes long and contains the footage of most, if not all, of the FJ's that tried the ledge.

I have 8 videos anyone know where I can post them so others can see them too? On yousendit.com it will only be there for 7 days.
It was a great event, meet some great people too and had fun.
Thanks for all the hard work done to pull this event off.
Kirk

I am going to try to put together a slide show, and a few video compiliations of everyone from HDCruisers that attended to put on our website. Would you like me to include some of yours?

Ron

Great pics and videos!! I am stoked to hear everyone had a great time. Thank you all for making the trek out to this part of the country to make this event. I will be looking forward to seeing you all next year. I want to give a big shout out to all our sponsors who not only donated great product to our raffle but their time as well. Mark with Metal Tech, Jon w/ All-Pro, Jason w/ Demello Offroad, ICON and Toytec Lifts. Also thanks for Desert Suns support and of coarse the unbeatable Trail Team!! Next year I was told I will have IH8MUD.COM on the back of the shirts as well. Thanks Woody!!!!!

Oh yeah, Kirk and I saw a Leprichaun at the campground

In the raffle I won a nice Trail Team tool bag stuffed with Toyota stuff, work gloves, folding shovels,Toyota ear muffs :) & the coolest thing was a Toyota Trail Teams grill badge. I don't have a FJ yet but I had to mount it.
My Tacoma is de-badged so I had a great spot to install the grill badge on the tailgate. I used the mounting bracket as a template and marked/drilled holes in the tailgate to install it flush to the tailgate. Backed it up inside the tailgate with spacers, washers & locktight.

It was a great event. It felt kinda of neat being the only FJ-40 there. I even had a guy ask me what kind of vehicle I was driving. On my webshots site are the pictures from the event and I included the pictures from Three Rivers Petroglyph Site for those who did not go.

Thanks to Brandon and the Trail teams for a great time.

If anyone has any pictures of me in action I'd sure would appreciate any pictures.

Nice pics Woody. Connie, Ross, and I went last year and had a great time. Brandon and his staff at Desert Sun have started a great event here in NM. I was very impressed with the organization and effort. Getting the TT to help is the icing on the cake.

All New Mexico FJCruiser owners should make this an annual tradition.
