Thread repair in bash plate mounting holes?

So after countless oil changes by uncaring techs I have a few stripped bolt threads in the bash plate mounting hardware. In the next oil change I would like to replace many of the bolts and chase the threads that they mount too in the frame. Has anyone had any success in this? From what I can tell the bolts are M8 x 1.25.

Any advice (pertaining to this project) is appreciated.

If it were mine, I'd take a sample or samples to a hardware store with a good metric selection. Match up and go. HD or Lowes or similar.
