does anyone know the thread measurement and appropriate length on the 12 mm (socket size) chassis bolts you would use when rigging a diff breather hose extension using p-clamps? I am thinking 1/2 inch depth but my Toyota dealer does not know what thread.

That would be 8 x 1.25 mm.......

Length could be around 15mm or so.

Semlin,

If you are using the instructions that were posted a while back, you will need very few 8x1.25mm bolts. Most are already clamping something and you just need to add the P-Clamp under the factory bolt.

I believe you will find a couple that are in threaded holes under the hood but are not holding anything. I removed and used those.

Get a thread gauge- you might have to hunt some to find a metric thread gauge- but I think most boltss on Cruisers are either 1.5 or 1.25 (fine). Correct me?

David,

Toyota does not generally use 1.5mm threads

The only exception that comes to mind,as I swill a Boddingtons, is lug studs..............which are 1.5mm.
