those damn gears

OK, I've got the rear dif taken apart, that was the easy part.  How do I reassemble it, specifically how do I get the spider gears with the thrust washers in place so I can put the spacer in to receive the retaining bar (pinion shaft) ?

As I recall, put the side gears in... put a little grease on the backs of the spiders and on the thrust washers to hold them together....line up one of the spiders with the side gears and moving both side gears together turn them past where the spider belongs... then opposite the first spider put the second one in turning the side gears together to bring both spiders back where they belong... insert the pin.

Sounds too easy doesn't it? Someone else undoubtedly has even better tricks, but I've found this to work.
