If true FJ lovers think a SBC conversion is sacrilege, why has the general term of Chevota been accepted? Seems to me that Toyolet would be a better description.

agreed bikesmurf, I love the stock motor, if mine dies I will look for another one, but since I rarely see them here in the South East it likely would be a SBC going in there. Lets pray my engine lasts and I do not have to make mine a Toyolet.
Havent heard that in years. My dad had a 74 fj 40 when I was a kid. He put a SBC in it about 2 years after he got it. Back then they custom fabed all the conversion parts and he always called it a toyolet.
