If true FJ lovers think a SBC conversion is sacrilege, why has the general term of Chevota been accepted? Seems to me that Toyolet would be a better description.

Been thought of before.

I'm sure I've seen at least one Chevvy-powered FJ40 in this country with exactly those letters (TOYOLET) on the grille.

Well, a SBC kept my dead truck off the scrap heap.:D

I'd rather have a Toyolet than an RIP any day.
 
agreed bikesmurf, I love the stock motor, if mine dies I will look for another one, but since I rarely see them here in the South East it likely would be a SBC going in there. Lets pray my engine lasts and I do not have to make mine a Toyolet.
