Words I never thought I'd say. Bought it in 2013 and spent the next two years restoring it. Vortec by Torfab, new paint...well, just see the list below Still need to make sure I've captured everything.
Why am I even thinking of doing this? Several reasons.
1. Moved back to TX and my wife had wanted to get a land cruiser too. So I have one commissioned with Trail Tailor that's being finalized. Initially this was going to be hers...but we're realizing that my wife driving a 5-speed might not be the best of ideas. (actually think I want her in a modern car...better handling, brakes, etc). I'm absolutely loving how the the new 60 is coming and I actually want to go back to the 2F and 5 speed.
2. I already have a 1977 FJ40 as well. I'm not exactly sure how my land cruiser obsession started...but went from one to two...to now a third one on the way. I'm also thinking of selling my 77 FJ40...but that'll get posted over in the 40 section.
With that I'm thinking of listing on BaT (need to shoot for top dollar). I think it should be able to get to at least $50K.....was curious to what people here say.
Here's the list (so far) for everything I've done. Have pics that detail all the work. Is the expectation to clear $50K unreasonable? I know you couldn't come close to building one for this amount (unless you did all/most of the work yourself).
