Words I never thought I'd say. Bought it in 2013 and spent the next two years restoring it. Vortec by Torfab, new paint...well, just see the list below Still need to make sure I've captured everything.

Why am I even thinking of doing this? Several reasons.
1. Moved back to TX and my wife had wanted to get a land cruiser too. So I have one commissioned with Trail Tailor that's being finalized. Initially this was going to be hers...but we're realizing that my wife driving a 5-speed might not be the best of ideas. (actually think I want her in a modern car...better handling, brakes, etc). I'm absolutely loving how the the new 60 is coming and I actually want to go back to the 2F and 5 speed.
2. I already have a 1977 FJ40 as well. I'm not exactly sure how my land cruiser obsession started...but went from one to two...to now a third one on the way. I'm also thinking of selling my 77 FJ40...but that'll get posted over in the 40 section.

With that I'm thinking of listing on BaT (need to shoot for top dollar). I think it should be able to get to at least $50K.....was curious to what people here say.

Here's the list (so far) for everything I've done. Have pics that detail all the work. Is the expectation to clear $50K unreasonable? I know you couldn't come close to building one for this amount (unless you did all/most of the work yourself).

In this bizarre world.. any price is possible. The new Heritage LC is +100k around here. That’s more than I paid for my HOUSE in 2012. Things are weird.

I prefer to drive old junk that I don’t have to worry about .. back when I bought my 60 it was exactly that. An obscure old Toyota wagon that people were practically giving away. Now I feel kinda guilty driving it like I do .. and especially don’t like the attention it get nowadays (with the hipster and classic car crowds) The new popularity is a turn off to me.. I think I’d rather drive the T100 I paid nothing for just because I feel humble and inconspicuous. Sadly it will soon be a “classic” too.

Sorry for off topic rant . Good luck with the sell

You’ll get it. Ive seen people pay more for worse. The way i see it, its a ~$20k conversion + $20-25k 60, with no wait time

Side question, how do you only put 10k miles on a Vortec swap in 7 years?? I did a swap for a guy this year and he’s already put that many on it.

With how the prices have been on BAT, I think my bet is on you hitting your number.
That is a beautiful 60!

Had a customer sell his 84fj60 that needed more work than i did to it for 20k was white and primer

There are lots and lots and lots 2013+ 200 series Landcruisers currently for sale at $50K and lower. Most have about 100K on their odos.
There’s an uncountable s*** ton of 100 series land cruisers for sale for dirt cheap.

Check out Edmonds.com

Personally, I’d much rather have a 2015 200 series with 100K on the odo for $50K than an engine swapped restored 60 any day.
But there’s always the enthusiast who’s in love with the 60’s body -so you never know.

The problem (in my eyes) with a GM engine swapped FJ60 is that it’s no longer a classic land cruiser. It’s not a classic. It may perform better than the pokey 2F, but (in my eyes) it’s no longer a Land Cruiser. It’s something else.

They are something else once swapped or altered in any way. I do swaps but I have no interest or intention to swap my 62 or my 80. I prefer the look of a 60 /62 series to the 80 but the 80 isn't bad. Don't own a 100 series but have riddenin one across the country and back to me the 100 is right on the cusp of not being a landcruiser but who knows they might be the next big thing.

^^^ Agreed. I will never swap my 60 or 80, I'd like to rebuild the transfer case and drop an h55 in her. I think $50,000 on BAT is very possible. Things can get wild on that site, beautiful 60! I just bought an 80 and I really, really like it, more than the 200. Didn't mean to hijack...

Yes yes and yes....I have one just about finished and cannot wait to get it back...its been gone almost a year. Love to see the your interior. My 2 cents is your price is too low! .... Silver Sky Met. whatda think? ...by the I'm just up in Gunter.
