IMO, the best fitting/looking winch for the FJ40 is by far the 8274 models....they are expensive, but the best built, longest lasting, etc winch out there...and a perfect fit to drop between the frame rails on a FJ40.

    Manny,
wait until after the PMC swap meet. They raffled a winch off last year.

Winch Depot was the best deal I found. Free shipping and they throw in a receiver style shackle.

If anyone is interested, I got a quote from a vendor on pirates:
    8274-50=$1079 shipped to you.

I think I found a used one...keeping fingers crossed, keep you guys posted.

petescoffee, see you at the swap meet?

have a great 4th (I thought this pic was particularly patriotic :D)
