now i know many peoples feeling on trail gear but i have never honestly had a problem with service or parts and they are also one of our supporting venders... so all aside from personal experiences towards one company or another and who u would recomend can be held for another thread.

my question is will the gears for sale HERE as well as many other sites fit our cases? like will they bolt on? or do i have to spend more money than it would be worth to make it work?
I do know that some grinding of the case is required and have no problem with that.
i just want to know if they will work.

Im curently waiting on a call back from one of the "techs" but would also like thoughts from here as well.

i ask cause many vendors make the low range gears and it would be nice to have for now and then later when a 4.7:1 toybox is added along with a NV4500 on top of the already lower transfer case gears it will be stupid low:hillbilly:

Thanks yall,
Trent:beer:

ok got a reply back thats a big fat NO they wont work. didnt think so but i figured it was worth asking anyway.

so know anyone who may have been thinking about it or was maybe wondering the same thing or had a brain fart all knows the answer is negative ghost rider.

Those gears and a toybox would be too low to be useable..Crazy Crazy slow. I have not seen these yet. Mark's gears in OZ should make a lower range gear set.

What kind of mileage you get on your straight pipe 300SD?

crazy low would be fine with the 4.56's and some 38-39's i could just pick a gear and go.

miledge is 26-28 on the freeway. the w126 body style (one that started in 81 mine is a w116 body made from 78-80) gets around 30ish freeway so im told but i think mine looks cooler but unfortunatly both are for sale as i need a towin / daily rig. (click links of the mercedes to see ads)
