How has your seat repair and dye job held up?
Well I gave up. It didn’t turn out to my liking. I bought seat covers from Marathon. Plan to have them recovered eventually.

Installed 2 Stedi AU Rock Lights onto my BIOR rear bumper. Wired up to come on during reverse.

Will be mounting and wiring 2 additional lights soon to my Trail Tailor rear hatch brackets. Will have these lights controlled by my SPOD for when I need that extra punch of light or setting up my trailer at night.

We are now 3X Locked and Re-Geared to 4.88’s!
Thanks to @duggy for assistance with the build.

Man, this is an awesome build. It has come so far. I enjoy watching. Duggy did my 3rd gen 4Runner rear wheel bearings about 5 years ago and haven't had an issue. He is top notch in Houston for sure. Wave to us semi stock guys when we pass! LOL

Thank you both for trusting us with your vehicle! This was an awesome build that we are proud to be a part of

Noticed a front main seal slight seepage. From my records, Toyota replaced the timing belt/water pump at 90k and timing belt at 180k. I have 216k miles now. Front main seal and cam seals were original. It was time to replace them. Had to make a decision on what else wanted to replace while in there to replace front main seal. Fan Clutch was replaced at Toyota at 155k. Toyota replaced belt tensioner at 193k and OEM idler pulley was replaced at 205k. Radiator and and all coolant hoses were replaced with OEM recently.

I choose to replace the following while replacing OEM Cam Seals (2) and front main seal.
1. Aisin Water Pump (it was overdue) and Aisin Timing Belt Kit (inexpensive to do while in there)
2. Aisin Fan Clutch Bracket (mine was original) and all new OEM nuts.
3. OEM Thermostat and gasket (mine was original to my records).
4. OEM SERP Belt
5. OEM PCV Valve, grommet, clips, and hoses
6. OEM Valve Cover Gaskets, OEM Tube Seals, OEM Valve Cover Bolts, and Denso Iridium Plugs. Last year I replaced all my coil packs with Denso and noticed I had a slight seepage on one of my tube seals so they needed replacing. Valve cover gaskets were original so replaced them as PM while fixing tube seals. Toyota replaced spark plugs at 180k with platinum plugs. Decided to upgrade to Denso Iridium plugs while we were in there.
7. Alternator connector was brittle when I recently replaced. Swapped it out with new OEM.

Thanks to @duggy for helping me get this done and set up right.

Completed my front passenger door refresh (did driver door earlier in this build thread).

Re-dyed the dark oak leather and vinyl at top of door panel that had faded over the years. Fixed a few nicks in the vinyl and reglued some vinyl edges that had come loose around the lip of the storage bin on the door.

I have a nick in my speaker grill cloth. Looking now to pick up a used one in good condition or will be recovering all 4 grill covers in the future.

Next plan for front passenger door is updating door actuator with new one from Aisin (already purchased), clean and lube window tracks, Dynomat door, and new speakers with crossover.

How is this holding up? Did you use adhesion promoter or a top coat?

Holding up really well. Didn’t use a topcoat. I had to redo the armrest on driver door. Apparently oil from skin seeps into that leather and doesn’t do well with a water based dye. It was just slightly tacky feeling. Make sure you clean it really good with a degreaser, let dry, and then apply water based dye.

Installed my new @TRAIL TAILOR rear light brackets today. Next up will be wiring up some new lights.

Curious if you ever added lights to those Trail Tailor mounts and how you ran the wire. I added lights to mine and just ran the wire in over the seal, but I think water is getting in somehow maybe dripping down the wire. I’d like to see someone’s better solution.

It’s been awhile since last post. Our family recently relocated back home to Tennessee. Haven’t had much time to work on the cruiser with the relocation.

Weather was beautiful this weekend so I was able to get my 5k service done. Had the slightest seepage of grease coming past the small OEM clamps on my upper CV boots. I had purchased the clamp kit awhile ago from PFran here on Mud. Had to buy the OEM reboot kit to get the tube of OEM grease. Found a syringe on Amazon that worked perfect for adding some grease. Got about a 1/4 of this syringe worth of grease pumped back in each boot. Installed the 2 new small clamps. So far so good. Think this will fix and improve my issue.
