PO's darn undercoating is peeling off.
Auxillary gas tank connection in the right rear fender well.

That’s a pretty steep angle for a filler hose. Does it work well?

Don't really know. Just move it around my driveway and it isn't registered or insured yet. We'll see.

Am wondering, How will the Teal Shpeal will look in a soft top?

Will find out come summer!

[Edit: How plan's change. In June I found a new caretaker for this rig, Mudders of late model Land Cruisers venturing into their first FJ40. The soft top stays with me for Stella.]

It wouldn't of been possibly without a 3 AM tip on the doors from @ToyotaMatt, who knew they were local to me. Thanks Matt!

Aw shucks Matt. Thanks.
Your 'Mistress' is a beaut.
Here is what I think I've got. @nuclearlemon's post of an SOR diagram.

Arrived In the mail, and on to the truck, a nicely restored hazard knob by @ToyotaMatt. This year's knob was has a little car on it. The original red paint likes to go missing.

I thought a brand spanking new OEM light switch (bottom) would look better, but found it jarring. Have now taken it back to the very style of the day (top) as restored by Matt. To each his own.

Nothing to salvage a s***ty day like coming home to packages of old and new truck parts.
Thanks @ToyotaMatt at Vintage TEQ Parts for this kit which included his battery starter ground strap upgrade kit, zinc hardware, Toyota coolant overflow bottle, some new dash delete plugs, and for Miss Kitty (my '64), a NOS glass fuel filter with spare filters!

Old part wise, thanks to the other Matt (@FJ40 MATT) for these early 70's hard top door bows that I will try to modify to become soft top door bows. Wish me luck.

THANKS

I stand corrected. Thank you Matt.

In planning for the soft top this summer I picked up some of these.

Learned the rear step between 1968 and 1973 is unusual, the tabs face inward. The Teal's has been modified but should clean up nicely. Stella my '68 will need one too. Found this one for $75, so between them they are now covered.

Test fitted the hard top door bows on Miss Kitty because her top is off (and the Teal's isn't). Needed to cut a notch to fit around the B pillar bow.

Will get some help fitting the channel for the canvas per @Pin_Head 's excellent DIY instructions:
