While searching around for pictures of SOA setups, I found myself wishing there was a thread dedicated to it. So I'm starting one. Here's some pictures I found of the multitude of approaches to the same mod. Hanger, shackles, perches etc.

Hopefully others will add to this.:wrench::wrench::wrench::wrench:

Great idea for a thread!

Anybody got pics of through-frame shackle or other ideas for a "lower" SOA?

It would also be cool to get part numbers for spring mounts and just misc parts used in most SOA setups.

My SOA, Ruff Stuff and Marlin Crawler componets.Alcan springs, Saginaw conversion, cut housings, 4 wheel disk brakes

Idea for lowering a spring over - I saw this on a Toyota in Moab several years ago and snapped a couple of pics. This is on the rear spring. I suppose it could also be done on the front springs...

Several pictures of how I've done SOA on 40/45's I've built:
-Extend the frame horns 2"
-Plate the inner frame horns
-Plate the crossmember
-Built front hangers and weld to frame
-Build saginaw mount plate with 2 upper bolts going through frame. (frame is sleeved).
-Front spring shackles are through the frame using 1" id tube.
-Custom built ubolt plates
-Frame horns are tied together with crossmember

here are some more early pics

only thing purchased was consumables and dodge spring perches. reused the rear mounts in the front, cut the tubes from the front mounts to weld in the frame in the rear.
