well my 40 has just been sitt'n in the driveway for the past few years.(needs a little work, not much)
was planning to sell and had it up for sale(for like a weekend)

"THE PLAN"
when i pull my 60 drivetrain for my v8 conversion, i will mate my built 2f in the 40 to the 4spd and t-case out of the 60.
put the 4.11's back in the 60,and the 4.88's will go in the 40.
cut as much sheet metal off the 40 as possable.
1/4s will be trimmed extensivly.
inner tub will lose alot of metal and the tub will be tubed for a back seat for the kid.
front fenders will be modified and tubed.
rockers cut,sliders(go figure)
prolly stick with the suspension set up i have right now.
and go 36 or 37's
cage will be reworked and tied into the frame.

hoping to have it done for CM06!!!!!! :D

ANDREWFARMER IS MY INSPIRATION FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!

a harbor freight 12 ton hydro that MABRODIS gave me.

i even figured a way to keep it from kink'n the tube when its bending..

same bender i used on the sliders i gave you ;)

You gonna leave us hanging like that or what? I have heard sand in the tube helps... help a brother out will ya!

BTW, where are you in S. Denver? I head through there often because my girl lives in the Springs. I am in Louisville. Give a hollar if you ever need a hand.

Thanks-

what i did was cut a piece of tube in half about 6 inches long, and i lay the half pieces between the rollers(that do not roll) and the tube i'm bending.(spreads the load)
and if i'm workin at the end of a tube, i have a piece of solid steel to put in the end to keep it from colapsing.

i'm in castle rock,up in founders.
in the process of building my cage right now.
gonna do what i can now, untill i can do my drive-line swaps ;)

Tube bender.....Luckeeeeeee.

I have a mandrel bender if you want to use it when you build your cage.

Git it jim :D

but dude SUA

SUA front with linked rear :grinpimp:

Get them fenders on that 40 so I can see how they look and so I can steal dimentions to make some myself  :grinpimp:

Keep after it

son of a gun!
i bought some hrew 2" .120 yesterday, tried to bend it in my bender last night.
:frown: no go, i think its to thick walled for it.it would bend it, but it would kink up the inside radius and slightly flatten out the outside.

started with a 10' section for a side piece.then i had to cut it in half and fart around with a 5' piece to see if i could get it to work......no dice, :frown:

IAN, i may be getting ahold of you if plan "b" falls thru.

thanx

No prob. I am out of town this weekend, but will be here aside from that. I have 1", 1.5" and 2" mandrels. Just don't leave your old cage here like nutley did :grinpimp:

Are you sure you have a tube bender, or is it possibly a pipe bender? I have heard that the tube flattens out when bending in a pipe bender. Not sure what the difference is between them, because I don't have either.
