you were right, it was built oct-84.
wouldn't this have sold as an 85 model though?

how can you tell the difference between the 84 and 85?

that late it should be a 85 model,

easiest is lookin at the title.

you cannot really notice any difference between the two other
then the tag that says they are different.

1985 model. I seem to recall the start of new models is Aug, maybe Sept.

Registration/title is not always a good way to tell model year. My 5/1969 FJ40 is titled as a 1970, which it clearly is not. Of course, by 1985 it does work.
 
manufacturing model yr and titled model yrs can be different, but sales yr of the vehicle
will aways be on the title.

just wait until you have early mid and late yr models :)
