We have isolated the problem and are working on a fix. https://forum.ih8mud.com/showpost.php?p=1352114&postcount=51 for details
    #######################################

Good day everybody. Ryan here, "the server guy". Here at the colocation facility, we are having some serious router issues. They started last week and got many times worse over the weekend. Right now, the network is fast for some and dog slow for others. But as you know, this is the Internet and nothing *ever* works perfectly.

So, like any good upstanding mudder, you want to know how you can help, right? Here's how!

    http://www.ih8mud.com/reportproblem.html

Fill it out, run the traceroute, and send it along.

Thanks so much for your help. By gathering this data, we can figure out what the problem is.

My MUD performance has been intermittent. About half the time it's nice and quick, no issues. The other half of the time it hangs and times out. If I reload the page I can get it to reload quickly again about half the time.

    Here's the first traceroute.

    Code:
traceroute to 204.10.136.15 (204.10.136.15), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets

For those using a Mac, launch the "Network Utility" application. It's in your Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder. Just choose traceroute, enter 204.10.136.15 in the box, and when it finishes copy and paste the result into your post.....

I am having a problem accessing the site from my ip, I am running Anonymizer which is generating a spoofed ip. With it running I got this:
    Microsoft(R) Windows DOS
    (C)Copyright Microsoft Corp 1990-2001.

    C:\DOCUME~1\CHARLIE>tracert 204.10.136.15

    Tracing route to lookup1.hostrack.net [204.10.136.15]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

    1 * * * Request timed out.
    2 * * * Request timed out.
    3 * * * Request timed out.
    4 * * * Request timed out.
    5 * * * Request timed out.

    This is a second try:

    Microsoft(R) Windows DOS
    (C)Copyright Microsoft Corp 1990-2001.

    C:\DOCUME~1\CHARLIE>tracert 204.10.136.15

    Tracing route to lookup1.hostrack.net [204.10.136.15]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

    1 * * * Request timed out.
    2 * * * Request timed out.
    3 * * * Request timed out.
    4 * * * Request timed out.
    5 * * * Request timed out.
    6 * * * Request timed out.
    7 * * * Request timed out.
    8 * *

And I tried from my machine that is physically connected to the router, (this is wirelessly connected) same thing (no ip spoof)

    Thanks for your time!

    Excellent. Thanks guys!

94landcruiser: Your network admin has probably set up a firewall that blocks ICMP traffic. No worries.

I am my admin :) I am running on winXP SP2, the ip issue happens in IE & Mozilla, I have a DSL line running through TelMex Prodigy. All other sites work fine, this started on the 20th.

I guess Prodigy is blocking as I can't tracert or ping any site.

    Here is Yahoo:

    C:\DOCUME~1\CHARLIE>ping 216.109.112.135

Pinging 216.109.112.135 with 32 bytes of data:

    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.

    Ping statistics for 216.109.112.135:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

    Thanks!

Update: Your traceroutes are helping, thank you! We have a Cisco expert (literally, the guy owns a CCIE training company) looking at the routers right now. Hopefully we'll have this resolved shortly.
