The Kokopelli trail. Stretching 150 miles from Loma Colorado to Moab Utah. Me, Lance, my winch (lol). Check this video out.

YouTube - ‪Cruise Moab 2011 | Kokopelli Trail‬‏

This trip is happening in the last 2 weeks of September.

Departure September 23.

Idea:

Ramble the trail then hit Moab, Arches, Canyonlands. Our previous plan of going to Yellowstone got scuppered by Lance having to attend a wedding. Should be good for a few laughs, and some ridiculous antics...

Early days yet but Lance and I are going to do this. Comments? any interest?

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about this trip. I was feeling pretty deflated, when I found out my nephew's wedding date landed right in the middle of the Yellowstone trip, and I couldn't go anymore. I've been working a s*** load of OT to get my truck ready for Yellowstone, and it wouldn't be cool to ask to change the dates, since we were tagging along on someone else's planned trip. This time we need to bring a dedicated video camera with us. There was some other stuff we did on the Death Valley trip, that we tried to capture on camera, but didn't turn out. It would of looked cool on video, but would of ruined the trip if it went bad. Since we were running low on memory, and batteries we couldn't take a lot of video. My camera ate batteries like crazy, and the rechargeable batteries I brought with me wouldn't work with this camera. Graham's camera was running out of memory, since it was a Sony, and used a memory stick not compatible with my memory card readers. I don't want to have to miss anything this time.

I had my netbook with me, but the equipment we brought just didn't work with each other. Smart Ass.

You should have bought a Escalade, then :flipoff2:

you guy's should check out those little gopro camera's ... they have a video / timed picture setting that could prove pretty entertaining... I've debated putting one on my dash for long trips...

Yeah, looking at getting a Go Pro for the trip, I just wish it had a remote.

Hilarious! Christian can still fit a set of spinners to his 81..

Hahahaha, man if I did that I don't think anyone would talk to me again!

Ya a remote would be a really good feature... depending on where you mount it you could probably start/stop recording pretty easily before you tried anything stupid...

If you do get one let me know how it is... I've been debating one for quite a while now.

If it's that small little camera about 3 inches square my buddy has one and it's a cool little camera!

He has used it on the Royal Hudson driving arms and it's really clear, I will see if he has the video posted somewhere that you guys can see.

Cheers

I broke down and bought one for $240 Go Pro Hero HD Motorsport, and a polarized lens for glare. Just went to go see if I could find the link, and found this one a little cheaper if you get it shipped within the states. GoPro HERO Go Pro HD 1080 Motorsports Camera NEW IN BOX on eBay.ca (item 180670510861 end time 28-May-11 23:02:45 EDT)

A friend of mine has one, and the video is amazing, even at 720p. I looked at other video samples from other cameras out there. The Go Pro looked the best. You can also add an LCD screen to it now, so hopefully they make a remote that attaches to the LCD or something. I sent in a suggestion, and got a reply that they are working on one.

:censor:!!! Somebody stop me, I just bought another one. LOL! This one is for sailor's truck.

August temps are about 100F (Average) can be hotter. More tolerable temperatures are in Sept-Oct

I thought I paid for those already, by pretending to be your friend???

Yeah, hoping for September too, after my nephews wedding. It will give me a chance to save some $$ for the trip, with all the expenses I'm putting into the truck.

My console fridge and a/c work fine. September it is.

Oh crap, that's another thing I would like to get running for the trip.

Oh, yeah. anytime after September 10th I will be good to go.
