~1000 mile trip from GA to CT to visit family. Stopped at Shenandoah National Park to rest for a night. Am averaging a little over 16mpg.

Pic of the truck loaded up the night before we left (just my 10 year old and I).

May be hard to see but this one shows the screens I had made to go over the rear windows as well as the tailgate to provide airflow and keep bugs away.

Will be leaving on Saturday and camping again on the way back so hopefully more pics to come.

Saturday we went to the ghost town of St. Elmo and ran as far up Tin cup pass as we could

This past winter we had a pretty epic avalanche cycle. I spend allot of time doing bc travel in the winter and seeing the destructive force of these slides really blew me away. The pictures don't do it justice. This slide ran hundreds of feet up the other side of the valley from where it triggered. My typical winter travel thoughts would have me thinking I was high enough up out of the valley to avoid this and I would have been wrong.

Went up to Baldwin lake area to camp saturday night and good thing my wife bugged me to bring the mossy net as they were in full force when we got there. Suckers went after my 2yo's face.

Is that a DIY sleeping platform? Any info? Thanks

It is. Made it in 2 sections in case I want to go by myself. Metal frame (1” square tubing since I have a welder) with a carpeted (interior/exterior carpet I saw at Costco that’s fairly soft to the touch) wood top (sheet of plywood). Height was based on the folding section resting on top of the 2nd row seat. First time working with wood and carpeting so came out better than I had thought. Should have cut the wood a little smaller as it’s a tight fit but other than that, quite a satisfying project. Hopefully this will help wife enjoy the outdoors more.

Wow, very nice. I'm gonna copy your idea. Looks great. Simple, yet functional. I like how you can use just the single setup or both.

It looks like my windshield was previously replaced by an incompetent buffoon. The glass slipped a little and the seal at the top was not completely effective.
Consequently it began leaking and developed rust. Eventually that caused the glass to flex and finally crack.
Now I not only have a cracked windshield to deal with, I also have to repair the rust on the top edge
