Anything outside of a pop up tent trailer?

Body wise the 80 can handle a heavy load but can the 3FE tow a 4k lb travel trailer?

Itll tow it. Just slowly. The brakes on a 91-92 wont have fun stopping a 4000lb trailer though

probably exceeds GVW. Drum brakes, and about 125 horsepower. I have towed a light utility trailer for thousands of miles behind my old (well tunes) FJ60, and that's why I have an FZJ80 today...

Second the towing brakes issue.
maybe and I am saying big ole MAYBE with some electirc trailer brakes I would give it a try. That being said if you are in stock form as far as tires go I will do it Just not very quickly. Mine is running 33" itres and I regularly tow a 1-2k utility trailer around town and on road trips. Not fas but it will work.

Pulled a 4,500 lb trailer with a FULLY Loaded 92 across the country. I made it, but the hills were a bear. I was quite impressed, because I made it and I was afraid it might blow up, but it never overheated and did rather well considering I was in 3rd gear most of the way. If I had to do it often, I would get something else but it worked and I was in a bind. This is a big reason I am a believer in the LC today!

i bet it will, but i would defently leave plentey of extra room incase of an emergancy. also be sure to plan for extra gas (dont ask why i include that part)
