I picked this up a couple months ago after randomly searching and finding one just over an hour away, I was off to take a look with cash in hand.
When I got it:

It needed a bunch of hatch work (as expected) and had a few things I fixed along the way. The front shocks were leaking so the suspension overhaul recently took place.

How it sits so far:

Nice rig.. any updates?

Thanks! Not quite yet. I still need to replace the rear A/C lines next week, put on the lamp gaurds for the headlights/fogs/etc and give it one more good cleaning before winter. Wheels and tires are planned in the spring (I want to wear out the tires more as they are almost new).

I have been busy with my other "toy" projects which will end soon as winter is approaching.

What's life span of these? How is the coverage for high beams, still have a dead spot in the front with high beam on?

no idea, but should be longer than a old school bulb. they are built quite well. No, the high beams are serious. Although once I figure out the fog light mod, that will make them even better.

welcome to the sequoia club

It's been a great truck with the only issue being a problem with the E shift Solenoid. It was fixed pretty quickly though. This summer I will be installing a custom fiberglass sub enclosure in that goofy compartment and see what that turns into (I used to install IASCA and dB drag custom systems).

Here is a bit of a photo diary to catch everyone up.

Low beam on the road:

Door grills repainted:

Rear wheel well rot replaced:

Towed my MR2 home like a CHAMP (only 2MPG less than normal) from out of state:

What was the eshift issue? Did you have any codes for it?

Yeah, I forgot what the code was tho..

Why do you ask? I may be able to look back for it if you are troubleshooting something. LMK!

ah, not at all what my symptoms where. Mine was a CEL with normal operation, but the next day it would barely drive and seemed almost like speed sensor issue with traction control.

Quite a while since my last update.

I did replace the front blown speakers and have to say I am impressed with the amount of bass and power they will take. For $59, I am very happy.

cheap here:
I just chopped up the old ones to use their metal bezel as a mount and screwed the new speaker into that metal bezel. Still 7" and 2ohm. They work GREAT.

Replaced the front and rear brakes with power stops. front where powder coated red, the rears I epoxy painted to match. New x drilled and slotted, zinc plated rotors front and rear.
