Subject: The Lizzard

I finally finished building up my truck. (Well, almost...I still have to put the 47 Gallon extra fuel tank for a total fuel capacity of aprox 70 Gallons and make a quick disconnect system for the sway bars)....

I know you guys like 70 series, so here are some pics of my FZJ78 Troopie "The Lizzard"...

It is a 2006 FZJ78 Land Cruiser (1FZ-FE Engine with Coil Packs). It was built for expedition duty (as you can imagine by the extra-large gas tank) but also as a rig that should be able to do well in extreme off road situations (I'd need a crawl box or auto tranny to go through Rubicon with the sheet metal unscathed, but that's not the type of wheeling we do anywhere here, so....)

This trucks come from the dealer as Troop Carriers, with plastic seating and in the back long 5 persn each seats on the sides of the ruck, so a lot of work went into adapting the FZJ80 seats in a safe and confortable way. Besides everything else: LOL! You know how it is...

Regrads,
Silviu

Very nice 78 in Jungle Green ,my favourite cruiser colour;)

I like the rear seat conversion .We could get factory forward facing rear seats in oz and they had a special front passengers seat that could lean forward and rotate to let passengers in.
The roll cage is really a necessity in those if its to be a family car.
Do you use it for weekend camping or longer expedition type trips ?

Amaizing..

I guess we can't get the 78 in Canada eh?

Where are they most plentiful for export.. (LHD?)
Oz and NZ most likely, but they're expensive and people don't part with them, but drive them till the wheels fall off. Apparently the 78 wasn't used much for JDM; attempts to find them for import were unsuccessful.

Most 70 series would sell very well in Canada, since the JDM RHD imports are usually sold before they land.

Wow! Excellent job! Everything is so neat, clean and tidy. Now you have started the wheels turning in my head (sound of rusty gears with chipped teeth) as to how I can set up some seats like that in the back of my HJ47.

Absolutely inspiring.

OZ = RHD... so where is this one?? LHD... France? or South Africa?

Wow this is one truck i'd sell my 42 for. Very nice i'm jealous. Does this truck exist in diesel version?

There is no production Diesel in Venezuela, just the Dyna truck and the engine is similar to the one used in some 80's...
no 70 series with diesel so far...

In the rest of the world, yeah...should be available somewhere...

I got the link for action pictures, I will publish it tonight...:bounce::bounce2:I can't do it from work:mad:...bummer....

You sir are one of cruelest SOBs I have ever encountered. You know we cant those up here, or half those parts. Why would you punish us so?

PS, nice rig

Good catch my friend; you are the second one who actually notices the 3rd stop light…

I guess they were testing the new 70 series as well in that trip…but those pictures are “confidential” jejejeje

Hehehe, no problem man, I will keep them from the cruiserheads for the time being, you decide when and if you want to post them ;).

The secret is safe with me.
