First time seeing this thread. I don't remember the exact production date of @FJ45Dude 1966, but his '66 is the earliest that I have personally seen with the plug optioned into the wiring harness.

Hey mark !

good to see you Sir..

i left a personal voice mail on your TOP SECERT HOT LINE # ,

give me a shout on my skunk works LAB bat cave #

as far as the OPTIONAL HAZARD Circuit and switch topic .......

i have a 1964 FJ40L USA Spec. paper parts Cataloger , that shows and has the option switch , wire sub harness that @Coolerman hand makes with pride

so i can say for a fact on paper TOYOTA Print Media original NOT a re-print , 1964 was a year it was indeed offered usa spec.

now 1963 and earlier , ?

not sure .........?,

SAME goes for a WASHER BOTTLE , Pump and Nozzles x 2 set up

DEALER INSTALLED NipponDenso KIT

i have one NOS kit in my parts museum

its also Fully outlined in the 1964 FJ40L paper parts cataloger as a dealer ONLY assy option

my take is this :

the HAZARD switch option started out as a USA spec California ONLY dealer option only

then became a JAPAN plant A11 standard at a date i am NOT certain about ?

maybe 67 or 68 ?

you would know this facts better mark ?

@oregon fj's '64 FST came with one when he bought it. He wrote in his 'Older than dirt" post #7 "Story is that the original owner was involved with the sheriff’s search & rescue back in the 60s, and he special ordered this 40 to get one with the winch." So if the dealer put it in, it might of be possible earlier.
