I posted in what I did this weekend to start this and decided I should start a thread. I was lucky enough to get 1 of the beta solo drawers from cruzerdave landsharkoutfitters.com couple months ago and I'm finally getting around to to installing it and posting some pics to go with it. So here it goes. In the beginning... This is what it looks like after you unwrap everything.

By the instructions, that one should always read first before starting any project.... I started to assemble the drawer first. The instructions explain drawer assemble well and is fairly easy to grasp how it all goes together. Being a carpenter by trade I went a a little beyond the instructions glued all the connections and before sliding drawer bottom into the dado in the sides I broke all the edges on the plywood with 100 grit sand paper to make putting it together easier.

After sliding bottom in I squared up the drawer (which is important as per instructions) I clamped it all together.
I guess I have to start another post to put up more pics. NEXT.......

Next was the aluminum frame assemble which was a little less clear on how it all went together, Dave told me that the instructions will be better when the are for sale, this is beta testing. I didn't take a lot of pcs of this, it goes together pretty easy. Hardware is nice stuff works well and it goes together easy.

When it came to mounting in LC Instructions were good but, only required use of 1 bolt in each seat hold down, and I'm into overkill I used all 4 and built some 3/8" spacers to take up new carpet and extra floor insulation. I noticed when I bolted the frame down the first time that it bowed the plywood enough to make the drawer tougher to slide in and out, the spacers eliminated this issue.

Nice. But if your a carpenter why not just build your own?

scrowley: I was going to but, everything I've seen built here on MUD has been (IMO) way overbuilt and to heavy for my liking. Just the price of good drawer glides are more than I paid for this whole package. I liked the aluminum frame portion of this build and how the glide is integrated into aluminum frame. And now that I've finished it, I would do it again. I going to expand the left side up to the tire carrier next.

For now I've decided to just paint the whole thing, haven't found the right material for the top. I used the mounting points for the wing different than instructions, I made it removable by installing 1/4" dowels that line up with mounting points and just lifts out instead of being permanent, with hinges you have to have the seat forward to open and I didn't like that so... Did find a nice Stainless Steel latch on amazon, didn't see a need to lock it if someone gets this far into my LC it doesn't really matter.

1 attachment point? I doubt that'd hold in a semi-decent fender bender, much less a serious wreck/rollover. Glad you added another one!

1 other question:
why do people keep their spare in the cab & lose all that cargo space? Is it a tire theft issue or? I don't get it. Sorry for derailing!

I didn't make that clear enough, instructions said 1 bolt from each seat hold down. I used 2 on each hold down.

I had a Jeep (it was a weak moment but I'm better now) before this and having swing outs create problems under certain circumstances and didn't want to mess with on this build. I actually bought a ARB rear bumper with tire swing out and gas can swing out and after I bought it, discovering how heavy it was, decided I didn't want to carrier that much extra weight. Also Phil makes a great interior mount..

I don't get it. Sorry for derailing!
no worries its a good question
