My first ride in a 4wd was in 1978 with my Uncle Kent and his 60's FJ. I have been lusting for one ever since.

In December 2016 I traded this can of worms

Several of my friends think I am crazy but it was a deal I couldn't pass up. It is a 1978 with a Fiberglass tub, hood, and fenders.

I hate autocorrect, it should have been the I had to have AN FJ

More to follow

Sure, I haven't given one all day. Enjoy! :flipoff2:

Does it really matter which way the bezel sits?

And I have been calling them "FJ's" since the 70's.:)

Welcome to the madness:beer:

Technically you have a FJ40. A FJ, as mentioned above, is a FJ Cruiser, Toyota's tribute rebuild of the original FJ40. I purchased my second FJ40 34 years after I sold the first one and I was corrected as well when I made the same mistake. You will do better I am sure.

Anyway, welcome to MUD and the Land Cruiser madness.

Did a little rust, crud, nest removal on the windshield frame today. I found where the wasps were coming from too.

I think I am going to cut the rust out and make some simple "fitch" plates to weld over them until I find a better frame to play with. I also have to come up with some clamps to hold the windshield frame in place since the original hardware didn't make it to the tub.
