The correct water temperature sender gauge (1 Viewer)

I have a fj40 land cruiser 1976 direct import from Japan (not from the usa)
The water temperature sender gauge is not working.
I did not see the adapter bit in the fsm so i thought that it was a smaller sensor then the original but the man i am getting the sensor from said that this is the correct sensor and that the original has the adapter.

I would like to know if he is correct
