Looks good, no visible damage yet. All goes well and it needs a valve grind, new bearings and a new head gasket.

With that much carbon in the intake tracts what do the Rings look like?

Probably pretty dirty. We have not got into the bottom end. Plan right now is only BEB but we will see how things progress.

Overall, it’s looking like a good solid engine once we give it a refresh. I would rather they come to us never been touched vs the alternative and this one looks to have never been touched or opened up.

It’s amazing to me how much dirt and crap is still in this body even after all the cleaning it’s been through. And my wife wonders why I’m a bit OCD with our cruiser. I just need to show her this thread and she’ll understand. 😂

That’s the crossmember for front floor just under the seats. Another one of these spots that can easily fill with dust.
