Pushing this along and trying to keep up with ordering just what I need to continue and not exceed a reasonable budget based on current income or purchase things I won't end up using. Also trying out the one thing per day technique and letting the OCD slip a bit.

I got it right this time and have the tie rod ends I need to put that portion of the puzzle back together just a week or two after disassemble....whoo hoo! Much easier to do now rather than having to remember what goes where later.

Wasn't really impressed with the POR 15 Top Coat, first coat on freshly sandblasted and prepared metal went down nice but next day the second coat wouldn't cooperate and ended up with brush marks and a little dripping. Junk better hold up way better than spray paint......it sure doesn't look as good. Glad I only used it on a few under body parts so far and not sure if I want to use it under the tub?

Anyway looks a lot better than it did!

Axels have been reunited and are waiting for the frame and other bits to come back from the powder coater. Got the shock mounts on and bent the break line mount forward to clear where the shock will end up eventually.

Brought the the tub to work for a little rust extermination and paint touch-up. Probably going to paint the firewall the body color green and underbody with the POR 15 chassis black. The black is a little glossy but whatever hope to cover it in mud and dirt anyway.

Finished up with the tub paint.

Moving on with sticking the suspension and axels on the frame. Started with placing the front axle which was a good way to go because it makes the rear seem easy.

From here I need to work on the calipers and rear brake cylinders, might try honing and rebuild kit for part of it but probably going to need new calipers and drums before I can put rims and tires on.

I was happy to get the PS pump placed and created clearance on the fender with a little cutting and bending as well as some minor grinding of the fender support rib for the steering shaft it tyi out nice. Looking like it's going to work out but still need to stuff a shock mount in there somewhere so not done in this area yet.

Also degreased sand blasted and painted the rough cast bell housing with POR 15 DTM. In my opinion these rough cast pieces is where their product really works well!

Engine is done for now, moving on to the tranny and split transfer case!

Cleaned these up and preped the cast iron for POR 15. Aluminum parts are going to get treated differently, not sure yet but bought some Eastwood Alumablast so that might be what I use on the Intake manifold as well as the X-case housing..
