Oh, and earlier in the day I finished putting together a basic tool kit. It turned out the truck still had the factory bundle but I opted to put this one in. I think the roll is actually from an 80, but the parts fit well enough even though I added a few items.

I also was presented with an all-inclusive invoice for the SebSports work today. It was a lot, but also, a bargain. I really feel that I got great value for money. I told them this was a truck I wanted to keep for as long as I am driving, and they did what I asked, cheerfully. And when I compare what this would have cost in the US . . . I really shudder to think. SebSports is a high-end shop and they charge accordingly, but the value you get is outstanding!

And just to make life EXTRA interesting, Emirates Auction called today and the new blue 105 will be delivered to Dubai Investment Park 1 tomorrow morning, just as the white 2007 105 goes into the shipping container.

Progress continues apace.

The color code on the dataplate is 062 which is White Pearl Crystal Tricoat. Looks like it was painted early on in a sort of metallic bronze. This is a color that you see here for presidental guard trucks, or trucks guarding embassies.

To keep things simple I probably will stay with the factory tricolor white. But what do you think?

Man that’s some amazing “Character Building” right there…

If I ever win the lottery after this is stateside may I request first right of refusal? hahahahaha

Just kidding…. I love this kind of detail man!

I redid the steering wheel myself with Camel leather tanned right here in the UAE!

Then it was time for the 105 to go on a flatbed to the shipper, so some incidental cargo was loaded.

This is the remainder of the Aussie conservative turbo kit that will be installed on Golden Boy by @cruisermatt in Florida.

Then it was time to load the 105

The crew really took their time and care loading the truck!

My friends at Leader Relocations really took time and care on the loading. I did not include all the videos here but there were several iterations before the guys were satisfied.

Then it was time for the great escape!

And that was more or less it. The next time I see the truck will be in Vancouver, where I will be looking for long term secure storage.

But that was not the end of the day's activities...

COINCIDENTALLY, I got a call yesterday to tell me that my NEW blue 105 was going to be delivered today! The same day that the white 105 was leaving. So if you are interested in that... well here is the link [TBD].

Wow this really came out looking fantastic John. Can't wait to see it one day.

I WISH you would quit it with the OEM winches though

I LIKE OEM winches!

What a beautiful restoration. I'm excited to see what you do with it in NA.

Also funny how both our 105 are in containers at the same time.

Mine is on it's way to Spain.

Very nice! Why Spain, if I can ask...

Ok, so it has been a minute and I won't bore you all with the various twists and turns regarding the port strike in Canada and the apparent circling of the YM Trillion container vessel in Asia. The container with our trucks is now in Vancouver:

Not only did the container arrive a week late but our shipment has been selected for some kind of enhanced inspection:

I'm choosing to be optimistic. Meanwhile I am in Florida driving around in my 1993 80 series I imported a few years ago:

We took the truck on the Auto Train from Virginia to Florida where the truck now will live. I really like this 80 despite it being an automatic transmission. Just got it re-titled here in Florida. Have to put the plates on.
