I've been thinking of that already... just wondering how "original" I want to keep my BJ60.

it isn't a classic car man.....

stock means nothing. Its following is of a eclectic group of Toyota nuts who live for modifications to a reliable SUV.

Not a grampa who tinkers with his all original 53 Chev...

To me you build the truck to the state of what it means to you. How you want it to be. Its an extension of who you are.

If it were a rust bucket in need of a major overhaul, then I'd go nuts with modifications. But from what I've seen, there aren't a lot of Land Cruisers of this vintage still in original paint, and paint that still looks good, and otherwise unmodified. It pains me to do anything drastic that can't be returned to original.

However, if I do decide to do some modifications, once I get started, it will probably be hard to stop! Just have to get past that threshold.:D

hahahahaha who am I .. ?

tapage...you call your truck the beast? LOL......

Peter, I understand the desire to keep it looking original. There are many orginal FJ60's on here and they are nice.

Maybe in 30 years the original ones will be coveted.

Maybe as time goes on, I'll loosen up on the desire to keep it original. i would like to enjoy the truck, but it pains me do anything drastic to it. I've seen some original unmodified trucks sell for big money. Not that I'm thinking of selling anytime soon, just thinking ahead, especially since there aren't many diesels in North America. Even today they're worth more than the average vehicle of that age even though it's not quite a classic yet - still stuck between an older used vehicle and a classic.

no no no no she's name is Tencha .. :D

When I buy my HJ-60 time ago ( I thought was 1997 ) keep it as original was my idea .. and I work very hard on that .. but after time and using it every day you forget this idea ..

The only way to keep is as factory is using it only some days and in cotroled situations like a sunday short ride .. on summer.
